Client BriefIndustrial Refrigeration Specialists, Cross Refrigeration, have recently completed an upgrade of the refrigeration plant for Dalefarm at their Pennybridge site in Ballymena. The scope of works included making the existing workshop into a new plant room, install new chilling system in plant room, transfer the supply of cooling to the factory from existing plant and remove and dispose of all redundant plant and equipment. |
Case Study: Dalefarm PennybridgeThe SolutionSabroe Ammonia Refrigeration Chiller. The installation was designed around a flooded ammonia system utilising reciprocating compressors with suction valve lifting unloading, this is to help maximise energy savings within the system. The Sabroe chiller units have two reciprocating compressor units complete with oil separation, cooling and management systems. Also included with this chiller plant are soft start controls, stepped capacity regulation and Energy saving ECA compliant IP55 compressor drive motors. The Ammonia chiller unit was placed within the customer supply machinery room. Suitable ventilation fan and Ammonia leak detectors have been installed fitted within the room in accordance with BS EN 378. 2008.
The ResultDalefarm have a new high efficiency Sabroe chiller which provides necessary control, monitoring regulation and sequence control of the refrigeration package. Also fitted is the S.C.A.D.A (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) which is the most innovated control system in the world. |
