The Swiss Centre Leicester Square London
The ProjectThe Swiss Centre, in the world famous location of Leicester Square is the site of one of the Cross Groups most recent air conditioning projects. We were given the task of air conditioning the state of the art apartments on the upper levels of this building. With space being such a premium in this part of London careful consideration needed to be given to the installation of services to maximize the area available and to retain as much usable space as possible within the rooms. The apartments were designed and have been fitted out to the highest standards to meet the requirements of the wealthy clientele due to inhabit them in the near future. The SolutionThe apartments and penthouses within this building were fitted with Mitsubishi Electric air conditioning equipment with several levels of control. Each unit is fitted with a customized simplified stainless steel controller and all units within each apartment have a central controller which is calibrated to provide the ultimate comfort levels to pre-programmed parameters. Many of the apartments may have owners who travel extensively and are not occupied permanently, an option has been developed to control the heating and cooling in these areas by SMMS or mobile phone text. The most up to date technology has been used in these apartments to ensure ultimate performance is delivered to the end user at all times and from any location in the world. |
Ceiling void space was the greatest challenge to us as a air conditioning installer, to avoid clashes with other trades within the ceiling area, flat oval ductwork was utilized to reduce space, enhance performance and to distribute air from the fan coil to the Waterloo slot diffusers and into the living areas, in many cases a shadow gap in the ceiling was used to create a return air plenum back to the FCU's. The building also benefits from a PV Solar Array positioned on the roof which will generate electricity and income for the building's owners. The PV Array was installed by The Cross Group as part of our package, The Cross Group are MCS approved PV Solar Installers in the UK and Ireland.
